Could Zlatan Ibrahimovic succeed Jose Mourinho as the next manager of Manchester United?
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is not done playing football.
Despite his current injury, Manchester United is considering offering him a coaching role at Old Trafford.
Manager Jose Mourinho has built a strong relationship with Zlatan and would like the him to play the role of a middleman between the players and the coaching staff.
Ibrahimovic is expected to be handed a new deal once he recovers from his long-term knee injury, as he hopes to play in a squad that now has Romelu Lukaku.
The 35-year-old could be handed a fresh contract in January that will see him play till end of the season, and afterwards, he could be drafted to assist Mourinho.
Reports in England suggest that talks are already on between Ibrahimovic and United about the coaching role, but the player is keen on getting on the pitch again.
Asensio scored a screamer in the 4th minute as Real Madrid confirmed their superiority with a 2-0 bashing of Barcelona in their second leg Super Cup clash
Marco Asensio is playing his way into the hearts on many football fans and he gained even more grounds with yet another sensational strike on Wednesday.
Asensio scored a screamer in the 4th minute as Real Madrid confirmed their superiority with a 2-0 bashing of Barcelona in their second leg Spanish Super Cup clash.
But despite the high ratings for Asensio's latest 'Wonder Goal', the Real Madrid star picks his earlier strike in the first leg as the better of the two goals scored.
"Both of the goals were important in the tie," the Spaniard said.
"The first goal was nice, as was tonight's (Wednesday) but the one at the Camp Nou was more complicated and was very important."
With Cristiano Ronaldo's suspension, Asensio will likely see an increase in playing time, which he intends to take full advantage of.
"I work hard to have as many minutes as I possibly can," he added."I want to play from the beginning like I did today but I am happy with how things are going."
The laws in Spain says any player who “grab, push or shake” a referee in a manner that is “slightly violent” could get a ban of four to 12 matches
Can you imagine Real Madrid's Galatico take to the pitch in 12 of 38 La Liga matches without their golden boy? The laws in Spain appear to be against Cristiano Ronaldo. First it was tax evasion that landed him in court, now its a face-off with the referee. Cristiano Ronaldo may have bitten more than he can chew as a lengthy ban is looming on him after he pushed the referee in Real Madrid’s Super Cup first leg win over Barcelona on Sunday. The Portuguese ace was left furious when he was shown a second yellow card after going down in the box following a challenge by Samuel Umtiti. The 32-year-old initially walked away in disbelief with his hands on his head but then turned back towards the official before pushing him with his right hand.
Just two minutes before, Ronaldo had already been booked for taking his shirt off after scoring a superb goal to give his side a 2-1 lead in the second half.
And it now appears losing his cool may have landed Ronaldo in 'hot soup'.
It is understood that in Article 96 of the Spanish federation’s rule book, it reads that any player who “grab, push or shake” a referee in a manner that is “slightly violent” could get a ban of four to 12 matches.
In the referee’s match report he stated: “Once I showed him the red card, the player (Ronaldo) pushed me lightly showing discomfort.”
The federation will now decide on the severity of Ronaldo’s actions before determining what ban he should receive.
