The 35-year-old could be handed a fresh contract in January that will see him play till end of the season, and afterwards, he could be drafted to assist Mourinho.
Reports in England suggest that talks are already on between Ibrahimovic and United about the coaching role, but the player is keen on getting on the pitch again.
